Health Records Courtesy of Google

About an hour ago Forbes.com released an article regarding Googles plan to store health records online for individuals.  They are currently about to test the service with 1500 – 10,000 Clevland patients’ who volunteered for this service.  Now personally I can’t amagine any other company better suited to do this, but personally Google is the last company I would want to do this.  Furthermore the security level of this information is pretty minimal – just the same password you use for your gmail or other google login’s.  This probably scares me even more!  Anyone know your gmail login?  Do you want them also having access to your medical records?  What about keyloger software recording your gmail login and then sending that information back to a hacker providing them with access to your medical records?

I might be willing to suffer through Google’s involvement with this if there was some real security involved to protect the individuals health records, but a simple password that unlocks all of googles services?  How many people truly have a solid, hard to crack password for their gmail account?  Guess you dont want to check your gmail account on a public WiFi.

No thanks Google, please leave my medical records in the doctors office where they belong!
