Responsibly Green

I live in a State that has been blessed with a Ted’s restaurant.  Now although I am not a fan of Ted Turner’s, I must say his restaurants can make a real good meal.   You know the kind that is so good that when the food shows up people shut up until the food has been consumed.  But I digress.

Like any good and hip establishment, Ted’s cares about the environment.  So much so that they use recycled products as much as possible.  Everything from the paper straws (yup you read correctly) to the recycled brown butcher paper table cloths.  Now I must admit, the butcher paper does actually add to the ambiance of the place.  That said, I still have to take issue with it.

How to waste recycled paper

How to waste recycled paper

Notice the “sales pitch” emblem?  It reads “Responsible”, “Recyclable”, “Reusable”.  Now notice the nice dark brown in the upper left of the image.  That’s called a vinyl table cloth.  How Responsible do you think it is to needlessly waste a piece of Recycled butcher paper?

Which is “Greener”, washing the vinyl table cloth or using the recycled butcher paper OVER the top of the washable vinyl table cloth?

Where would we be without the “Green” movement?  I am just so glad that Ted cares so much for the environment that he would needlessly waste tons of recycled paper made by non-environmentally friendly paper plants.

Thank you Ted for caring!
