I think it boils down to there not really being better contraceptive options out there. Many women aren’t educated enough about their cycles to follow NFP, or they just can’t be bothered. I did it for awhile, but with little ones underfoot who wake you at all hours, it’s impossible to get accurate temp readings. Other BC options have worse side effects than the pill, with the exception maybe of condoms…which have an abysmal failure rate and aren’t very popular in monogamous relationships. So if a woman isn’t interested in sterilization, yet doesn’t want to get pregnant, she really doesn’t have too many options without side effects. It’s ridiculous that we have so few choices in this age of technology and medical advancement.

Regarding the immortal soul. . . . I have been wondering when it is in the developing baby. It is an interesting thing to consider, but really there’s not a person who could answer it definitively and without resorting to opinion and assumption. But it is something I have wondered about for a few months.

The “Pregnant by accident” made me laugh as well, but it also made me think about it. It really is no accident at all. Pregnancy is indeed a result and the only reason it is a result is because the baby is indeed a result of the act.

It is amazing how we have allowed ourselves as a society to accept certain thoughts and view points without question.

By the way, congrats on the 4th!

Yes there is many more to the series. There will be roughly 20 or so total posts. I will try to get the next batch flowing soon. I stopped because there were several comments I was wanting to make based on the previous 3 posts in the series. I will try to get that done and the next batch flowing quickly though.

I’ve long thought it odd that a woman who miscarries at 10 weeks would be devastated, while a woman who aborts at 10 weeks would just consider it a piece of unwanted tissue.

Interesting series, is there more to it?

“Pregnant by accident,” gotta laugh about that one. I’m pregnant with my 4th child (shame on me!?) and I’ve been asked if this was planned or an accident. (Wouldn’t they like to know? ;D )
